Boardgames Commercialisation

Many academics in the social sciences sector are developing educational games and using them, very successfully, for teaching purposes within their own institutions and networks. However, they are not managing to commercialise them due to a lack of awareness of the possibility, lack of support and a lack of expertise to enable them to take this next step. This project will create an Ed Tech Games Hub for the Aspect consortium as a means of providing practical resources, assistance in business planning and a hub for knowledge exchange. It also seeks to develop the commercialisation of two existing games as case studies. These case studies will increase understanding of routes to market in this field, the logistical challenges and how to create sustainable projects. This will generate a pool of expertise and evidence that will be disseminated to the Aspect network via events and the ongoing work of the Hub.
