Problem

Neurodevelopmental disorders including autism, ADHD and Developmental Coordination Disorder /Dyspraxia affect 1 in 5 children in every Scottish classroom whilst average wait times for diagnosis of these disorders are over a year and can be up to 4 years. The learning difficulties these disorders create and delays in accessing diagnosis and support make it very hard for these children to have an engaged and happy school and home life.

Solution

EPIC Think Learn supports neurodivergent children to better understand who they are and how their brain works. It provides subscription-based services to equip parents, teachers and clinicians/practitioners with research-based information, so they can support the neurodivergent children in their care.  

Its resources are particularly suitable for those working with children and young people who have just joined the waiting list for neurodevelopmental assessment but can be used at any stage in the process (including post-diagnosis.) Using an online toolkit approach allows subscribers to choose the parts that are most relevant right now to match the child’s goals, and to return later to retrieve the next tool. Subscribers also access live Q&A sessions and monthly webinars run by the EPIC Think Learn team who have over 25 years of research and public engagement into thinking skills (executive function).
