EVENT: Introduction to Innovate UK funding

How can Innovate UK funding – such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) that link businesses, academics, and inspiring graduates and post-graduates – be used to support the application of innovative social science research and methods beyond academia?
Join the Methods for Change Team in this 2-hour online discussion and networking event where we will outline for social scientists and collaborating organisations how Innovate UK funding may support their research, innovation and knowledge exchange agendas.
The online event is open to academics, early career and postgraduate researchers, and anyone working in business, public, third and policy sectors who would like to find out more about applying for Innovate UK funding. The session will have a specific focus on Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) and similar opportunities. Innovate UK is a part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
The session will be delivered by the Methods for Change team, in partnership with University Business Engagement and Knowledge Exchange Professionals responsible for developing KTP applications, Innovate UK staff, and academics and non-academic partners who have received Innovate UK KTP funding. Throughout the session you will learn more about the eligibility criteria, application process and managing a funded Innovate UK KTP project.
Following this information session, there will be the opportunity to explore potential project ideas and corresponding questions.
As a participant, academics will leave this session with more knowledge about Innovate UK funding can be used to support research impact agendas. Collaborating organisations from business and charity sectors will have a clearer idea about how they might engage with Innovate UK KTP funding with an academic partner.

- Rob Lawson, Artesia Consulting as a non-academic partner about Peak Water Demand, an example of a KTP project (with Claire Hoolohan, Alison Browne, Joe Cahill – University of Manchester)

Methods for Change is a UKRI/Research England, ASPECT Network funded project led by the University of Manchester. The online event is hosted by Dr Alison Browne (lead, Methods for Change) with support from the University of Manchester Business Engagement Team, and developed with Dr Temidayo Eseonu (Research Fellow, Methods for Change).
